People often struggle to find inspiration. It’s one of those things we tend to lose track of, because it’s right there with us hidden in plain sight.
There is a lot of thinking about life and experience out there, and we often get ideas that are just a bit confusing, like attributing the source of meaning to something beyond our control. But anything that you experience is actually two part. It’s part what you experienced and part the “you” that experiences it. Any truth you experience, any beauty that moves you deeply, is as much your own essence as it is anything actually in the world.
Can we live a life without inspiration?
- I’ve tried.
- Wouldn’t be much of a life.
- Life would be grey and dull.
Indeed, life would be distorted. Unfortunately, is it not true that most people report this grey life to one shade or another?
Yes. It is even a saying people use about putting the color back in life. The color never actually leaves the outside world, so what is actually becoming grey?
Ones own perception. Yes. Grey life is the uninspired life. In fact, that’s a big part of why people are attracted to the virtual world of Second Life.
In a sense, the Grey Life is another viewer in real life. A generic black and white viewer for older people? Some people are color blind in real life too, but their lives are often more vivid than those of us who are normally sighted. How can this be?
To each their own. Insects see red as green, or green as red, and so on. Very appropriate, and really that sums up inspiration pretty well, yet we lose track of that.
In the case of the color blind human, they are often singled out. So they tend not to get caught up in developing the “norms” that others do. They learn they have to fend for themselves perceptually and in other ways as well. But is there any such thing as a natural norm?
Insects see in ultraviolet so black light basically, very vivid. But there’s no way to prove when we look at a color we all see the same thing. Also true. It has been established that peoples brains even register colors to subtly different degrees.
No different then seeing a rainbow. Life is the rainbow, but rainbows are dependant on a light source. Where is this light to be found?
Inside us, if only we can prove it. You can prove it by your existence.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
