Your heart is the real truth. Your eye is the beauty which it beholds, and your purpose is contained in all that your being embraces and holds in awe.

Meditation Practice in Meditation

Meditation

How often should we practice meditation? When you feel a lack of peace, return to center. When mind controls you, return to center. When you don’t know what you feel or what to do, return to center. How often are these things for you? That is how often you should look within.

Perhaps twice, morning and night. With your natural rhythms. Since life requires we be engaged during the day, early morning does the most to bring awareness to our day and as that carries through as it does, it may affect your sleep. And thus you find each morning it gets deeper because you dream of a day spent in awareness. Some people meditate five times per day. Is why nothing can be said about time and frequency. Defeats meditation to think it has to have a method or pattern. Whatever brings you inside. If you can loose your false self in your breath then breathe.

People ask about time necessary to meditate and speak of how they might need to meditate all the time. It’s actually possible. But even meditation has limits. Sometimes not looking is looking. Often times when we refuse to reflect, life makes us. Over use becomes useless. Habit defeats it. But forming habits and breaking them deliberately is a form of karma yoga. It can be a meditation in itself.

Walking meditation is even traditional. Driving can be like Zen meditation. If anything, driving meditation is safer. Not letting your mind wander. Focusing and refocusing on driving is an excellent idea. Awareness of your process of driving, losing your self in that process. Understanding at that very moment there is just you driving. You aren’t home. You aren’t at your destination. You are just driving. Being where you are and not attached to where you are because you aren’t staying there. You are driving.

Freeing the body as a means of freeing the mind. There is no body without mind or mind without body. Is just being. Liberation is frightening. The mirror that shows you the soul shows you something both over powerfully beautiful and indescribably frightening.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
