The world is like a huge ongoing sound. Some originally saw this as the voice of god. Physicists consider it to be a field of information. Our ancestors even had no word for creativity. To their thinking it was a form of discovery, and later even seen as the process of divine revelation. Only in a relatively short span of time have we come to see it as a personal ability.

Behind everything you seek to create, there is a process, a way of implementation and agency. You can’t paint without the brushes, but you pay little mind to the brushes while painting. Many attribute this unseen process, this agency, to a god. In my experience, god has a strong resonance in this domain of life, but it’s broader than that.

“It is better to create than to be learned, creating is the true essence of life” Barthold Georg Niebuhr

“Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.” Bo Bennett

  • What is Creativity?

    What is Creativity?

Today we are talking about creativity so first we need to put it out there. What is creativity? Originality. There is no wrong answer to this question. New connections and novelty. Making something. Connection with spirit expressed outwardly. Invention and stimulation. Where does creativity come from? What makes it possible? Soul. Perspective. Soul/spirit/inner voice. Imagination.…

  • Owned by Their Work

    Owned by Their Work

Does the artist own their art? An artist absolutely owns the product of their labour, just like anyone who does any sort of work. I don’t think art is owned by anyone. Legally, but not really owned. If I created it, it belongs to me and no one else. Not really. As a photographer, the client…

  • Speaking of Necessity

    Speaking of Necessity

What would it mean to actually live your life? Is living life defined by moving with these predefined factors? Are you living your life because of your home? Or your job? Because of your relationships? What happens when we try to own a relationship? Or feel owned by it? Those things, or lack of them…

    Afraid to Burn

A little science here, and I hope you don’t mind a mild adult reference. They have found that the brain responds the same to orgasm as it does to extreme agony, and the female orgasm even activates the emotional response very little or not at all. Explains why I’ve seen women giving birth and the…

  • Dragon’s Fire

    Dragon’s Fire

What about things that motivate us from inside? The things that motivate us from the inside, they sometimes whisper, sometimes roar. Why are they so variable? Depends on what is talking I guess. I myself experience something that is metaphorically referred to as the dragons fire. Shall I share? Everyone familiar with Celtic lore? For…

  • You are not Your Brain

    You are not Your Brain

I find since I hit my head I am not very creative. My pictures lack something. I can not role play well any more. I just hit a wall. I panic for I do remember how I was before, so I struggle. Ah, excellent example. May I use your example? She is having trouble with…

  • Spirits in the World

    Spirits in the World

This other way I mentioned… Behind everything you seek to create there is a process, a way of implementation and agency. You can’t paint without the brushes, but you pay little mind to the brushes while painting. Many attribute this unseen process, this agency, to a god. In my experience, god has a strong resonance…

  • Allies Help me Create

    Allies Help me Create

So shall I offer how my allies help me create? First they flag things for me. Anger is a very enthusiastic hunter. Doubt is much more quiet. Fear is always reminding me of what I have already seen. These are my main three. When they call my attention to the things they flag, they like…

  • Creating Head Space

    Creating Head Space

When song writing and bike riding become the same thing, then you understand creativity. If you can catch a wrench, you can catch a different view of your idea, or a severe headache, and then later a different view. How many times have your old ideas hit you over the head? Not often. What happens…
