Category: Transition

Your life has its form by “events.” These events are often judged as lunacy, at other times seen as inspiration, but they are actually the stabilization of forces in your life. When you are coasting, you haven’t gained stability or form. You have lost it. What makes those moments into clarity or lunacy is awareness. The sacred moment of inspiration is thought to be a delusion, but the routine is the delusion.

People find the future scary. This is why some people never learn to drive a car. That space right in front of the car can be really scary, but until you learn to see further you just won’t steer at all and instead will be steered by someone else, or you will have very many crashes. We all learn either in the long or short run. We all have the vehicle of life, and it’s in motion for all of us, and we can all see our now.

“Nothing is secure but life, transition, the energizing spirit.” Ralph Waldo Emerson (American Poet, Lecturer and Essayist, 1803-1882)

“Disenchantment, whether it is a minor disappointment or a major shock, is the signal that things are moving into transition in our lives.” William Bridges

  • Routine Is Delusion

    Routine Is Delusion

Do you feel your life is stable? Is it largely the same on a daily basis? Why do you think so? Habits can be routine. Stable life, daily basis. For one thing, I do wake up almost as intact as I went to sleep, and I am lulled into believing all is the same. Breakfast,…

  • Window Rituals

    Window Rituals

People drift in the illusion of stable routine, but they aren’t entirely aimless. We all have those pivotal moments that sling shot us off in some direction before we settle into drift. But these moments, for most people, are “accidents”, and thus they feel no sense of fulfillment. Geniuses learn to make those sling shot…

  • Deliberate Creation

    Deliberate Creation

On the topic of the deliberately created moment, as I said earlier, you don’t have wisdom, wisdom has you. When you realize this, you realize how those insight moments arise, and can deliberately change not the world … but yourself. “e homai ka ‘ike mai luna mai e” That is a line to call for…

  • Deliberate Moments

    Deliberate Moments

One of the best things about reality is that it’s meaningless, and it has no meaning until we assign it one? Drift is meaningless, but the decisive moment that seems so chaotic and unreal… in that there is meaning. The Heyoka would not usually engage in things that actually hurt them, but they would deliberately…

  • Life In Transition

    Life In Transition

Anybody feel like their life is in transition? Care to share what that is like? I’m sacred. I mean scared. I don’t know what the future holds, and things are changing so fast. Sacred too, but was not your point. Excited. Excellent. Both of you are maybe the only ones here not in transition. Most people…

  • Life Without Crisis?

    Life Without Crisis?

Nothing is being done to you. Those insights we had as teens were an opportunity when we were so angst ridden. Ever find yourself saying “He/she/they don’t know I’m alive”? It is a half truth, and it’s almost always misinterpreted. Everyone feels like an object when they are taught to see the world and themselves…

  • Vehicle Of Life

    Vehicle Of Life

People often lament that life is sprinkled with moments of change with long stretches in between. True, but is life immutable? Just have to wait for an air hole to breath from? I don’t think so. Then you understand that well. Life shows every evidence of being willing to accommodate just about any event. Why…

  • Sense of Touch

    Sense of Touch

I will open with a question. What is status? Current state of being. Position relative to other similar objects. Any other thoughts? How do we understand our status? How others perceive us, their feedback. Our senses? We have a variety of senses. The bigger portion of those senses come together as an experience we call…

  • Psychopathic Frame of Mind

    Psychopathic Frame of Mind

Ambitious people also tend to be callous people. This has even been examined scientifically. Just as everyone has features of the autistic personality, they also have features of what they call the psychopathic personality. There is a simple way to illustrate the psychopathic mindset. Normally, between say you and me, as I regard you I…

  • Easing Fear of Transition

    Easing Fear of Transition

Perhaps another approach… Universally, we all display neurotic behaviour. Neurosis is defined as the display and perseverance in any non adaptive behaviour, something you do that serves no definable purpose, moves you no closer to any goal. Why is this? Why do we so often explain our reason for behaviour as “just because”? “Just because…

  • Dying on Purpose

    Dying on Purpose

I once had someone describe my personality and thought process as a work of art. It didn’t make sense to me at the time, maybe still doesn’t. Does it make sense to any of you? If so, how so? Well, it may appear different according to the observer. Everyone can have their own interpretations of…

  • Experience the Pain

    Experience the Pain

For me, human contact is torture though I crave it. It’s like a self flagellation or some other austerity of the flesh, and at times it leads to a bliss beyond description where I see only light in the presences around me. Does this sound crazy? No. This is accomplished only through feeling, letting hurts…

  • My Emotional Life

    My Emotional Life

So any question about status and transition? Transitions in status? My own personal challenge is coming to rest, allowing recovery of my own inner resources. I am sort of spiritually hyper-kinetic, a long habit of running from myself, specifically that part of myself that people have in the past found the most alienating. I learned…

  • Treachery is Valued

    Treachery is Valued

So yes, grief. I don’t relate to it properly. I experience loss only when things lose meaning, everything else is just a new found quiet. I even begin to panic when something starts to seem meaningless, don’t I? What is that like to witness from your point of view? It’s dramatic. Like debit card transactions. Yes. They…
