Animals on all levels contain within them the potential that lead to the seemingly greater complexity we perceive up the food chain. Every animal exists almost like a rung on a ladder, or a bond in a DNA strand. Their consciousness is a necessary element of those beings we consider more evolved. Animals have their own path, but just as the paths that run across the earth itself have no real distinction from each other, animals paths both parallel and mesh with human paths forming a tapestry.


It’s absurd to expect an animal to behave like anything other than a member of its species. The insight behind animal paths, though, is that the species is not a robot. Cats, dogs, and everything else learn also. Their culture changes. They adapt over time.
