Spirituality for Living

Pride is not evil. It’s saying I did this, because well, you did. It’s saying I’m here. You did what you did, and you don’t have to disown it. Just remember, it’s what you did. You aren’t what you did, you did it. You are what you are.

As opposed to pride in the self? Pride in the self is pride in being emperor of the world. The world tends to ignore you. What is the self that you are putting forth? Would anyone else even recognize it as a self that you want respect for? If you got respect for it, would you really feel good?

It’s when pride turns into deception that it is destructive? Yes. Pride is about what is. Hubris is about what you think is, or what you think should be.

When you give a child a new toy, and they smile, and are happy about claiming this new toy, is it ego? It is pride. They like having the new toy. They revel in this new thing. No shame. We can have that.  I can host classes and like it, am I being egotistical? Well, I hope it’s clear, I am not about control. I might seek to foster clarity and focus, but we are here, not me.

If you intend on serving others then it is not ego. If you want to get the world to look at you the great and wonderful. Then yes it is ego, do you agree? Why would I want you to look at me like I don’t look at myself? It would be embarrassing.

You sound like a wizard now. Well, go ahead and look behind the curtain. We can discuss the projection machine. Behind the robes the wizard is just a man, he’s naked, and likely blushing.
